Simple Crispy Salmon

Want to make a no-fuss recipe that feels fancy for your next dinner? Or maybe breakfast... who am I to judge? This crispy salmon is the food equivalent to the "oh this old thing? I just threw it on!!!"

What you'll need:

  • Salmon filets (preferrably wild caught)

  • 1-2 tbsp olive oil or vegan butter

  • 3-4 cloves minced garlic

  • Pinch of salt + pepper + garlic powder

What you'll do:

  1. Heat cast-iron skillet on the stove on medium heat.

  2. Once pan is hot, add in your oil or butter, and let it melt and coat the pan.

  3. Once pan is coated, add in your minced garlic, and let it cook until fragrant about a minute or so.

  4. Add your salmon filets skin side down, season with spices, and let the skin crisp up. Cook each side for 3-5 minutes.

  5. Flip the filet so that the skin side is down again, cover the pan and let cook for another couple of minutes. Some people like to pop the skillet in the oven to really get a nice crisp, but I found that this worked beautifully! The choice is yours!
